About the Program

In 2009, the west marin school was a recipient of  a NOAA B-WET grant.  The NOAA California Bay Watershed Education and Training (B-WET) Program provides funds to support environment-based education throughout the watersheds of San Francisco Bay, Monterey Bay, and Santa Barbara Channel.
Funded projects provide "meaningful"(pdf) watershed educational experiences to students, teachers, and communities.
Recognizing that an educated community is the key to understanding and sustaining the Nation's ocean and coastal environments, NOAA has developed B-WET into a national program.

Gallery Route One's Artist in Schools program coordinated the " media platform" component of the program for 3 trimesters of science electives. Students presented a photography based project through which they could narrate their learning and create a presentation of their learning for future students.

Projects produced in the media lab include; a Google Earth presentation, photography for exhibit and video production.
